Sprecher Fire-Brewed Cherry Cola
Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 8:26AM There are two situations where I have to struggle to censor myself from shouting out (or typing out I suppose) expletives when writing a review. One is when a drink is insanely awful, the other when it's insanely great. Thankfully this is in the latter category.
Sprecher Cherry Cola, or rather "Fire-Brewed" (it's in tiny print) Cherry Cola is amazing. Obtaining this was a tiny adventure in itself. First of all I got the tip about it from DW who found it in the grocery store I go to just about every other day. How could I have missed this? It's Sprecher, who has a great root beer, making a cherry cola? I had to have seen it! Well, it wasn't with the regular sodas. With the scoop, I went straight to the store next time I had a chance and checked it out. None to be found.
My next attempt started poorly. I was in the regular soda aisle and still couldn't find it when I noticed a lost-looking employee with one in his hands. He couldn't find where it went and I couldn't find one to buy. I told him "that's exactly what I'm looking for!" I think he was more excited that he didn't have to keep looking for it than I was to have found it. Eventually I will have to look for it again because I don't see how I won't be able to pick up one of these on a regular basis. Here's a preview of what you're about to read: this is one of the greatest sodas I've had.
This is absolutely delicious. As soon as I took a sniff I was sold. It wasn't just the scent of cherries, it was cherry cola. It smelled boldly of cherry cola.
It's smooth, sweet, rich, creamy. This is absolutely the best cherry cola I have ever tasted. But... there has to be a negative, doesn't there? Yep. It's got HFCS in it. It's so good though, I honestly do not care. I know, shame on me.
Let's look at the positives. First it's made with Wisconsin Door County cherry juice and Wisconsin raw honey. Good so far. It also mentions "the finest cola extract and a handful of selected spices cooked to perfection in our gas-fired brew kettles." That makes up for it's one downfall for me.
This is so good I'm sitting here sniffing the empty bottle while I'm typing this out. Crazy? You try it.
I don't know what's harder to believe, that after over 100 reviews, this is our first cherry cola or that a soda with HFCS is going into my top 5?
Verdict: Buy stock in the company!

I hope I can find this easily because I love cherry soda and will have to try it. :)
After we moved, we went to HEB, the one on Woodlands Pkwy and Kuykendahl. Its pretty hard to find, but if you go in the door nearest the produce, you literally have to go around the store to where the paper goods are, and to one side there will be a little area where they cook food to sell in store, and behind that is a little open faced cooler. ITs in there. If you go to the HEB on Lake Woodlands and Six Pines in the Market place shopping center (near the chipotle) you can find it (as well as the orange dream which I adore) in a similar open faced cooler behind their "On the Go" place.
I just popped the top of one of these and have to agree, sprecher has topped even their root beer. 'Tis good to be in the midwest.
Just finished a case of 4 this week. Menards harware stores carries Sprecher year round in the midwest. Always around $3.50 / 4.
Deee-licious stuff. A very mellow sweet cola with the zing of real cherry juice. Tops even their excellent rootbeer and creme sodas.
It's absurd how good their Cherry Cola really is. It's off the charts, it's so good. I've had friends try it and say it's the most amazing Cherry Cola they've ever had. Sprecher's Puma Kola is incredible, and their Cream Soda is out of this world. If you have a chance to try it, do it. You won't be disappointed. I ordered cases of it and had them shipped to my house, that's how good it is.
I agree the flavor of this is fantastic, but I get a waxy feel in my mouth when I drink it. It doesn't keep me from drinking it but it is odd. Try the Puma Cola if you get a chance. It is fantastic too and I do not get the waxy feeling from it.
I discovered this a couple of weeks ago and I agree, this is by far the best cherry cola I've ever had, ever. I crave it now and I'm forcing myself to drink just one bottle a day.
Iced cold in a frozen mug. 5 of 5 stars. This stuff is the best!
I just had this Cherry Cola for the first time yesterday. I was at a little lunch/sandwich shop in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and this place has hundreds of different brands of bottled soda and beer. I immediately saw the Sprecher Cherry Cola and knew I wanted to try it. WOW, it is so good. All day after I had it was was craving another one, but there is a dilemma: I have no idea where I can get a whole case of this soda in south Florida. Does anyone know?
Hey, actually Sprecher is not using High Fructose Corn Syrup any more!!!! I just drank a bottle of their root beer the other day and it stated that it was made with "sucrose". Sucrose is cane sugar.
Good to know. Sadly the ones I've recently tried are still using HFCS.
